MNB calls for global solidarity for Eritreans held on Sinai

It is with great grief I have recently learnt about kidnapping and human trafficking of Eritreans, who are then sold to Bedouin Militiamen in Sinai. As a Burundian People who had our own share of suffering, episodes of genocide, dictatorial regime, I cannot disassociate myself with the suffering of Eritreans currently held under unimaginable conditions in Egypt.

As a Burundian and citizen of the world, I strongly urge Burundians, Africans and the global community to make a stand, condemn Countries involved in the kidnappings and human trafficking of Eritreans, urging everyone to do all We can to end Sinai siege. From our sources, We have learnt that an estimated 1500African Men,Women,Children are held by Bedouin armed Militias in Sinai.

As of today,We received even more troubling news that Captors have threatened to sell an 8 years old Eritrean if his family fails to pay a ransom before this Sunday.

In a civilised and democratic world, We cannot turn a blind eye to such barbarity, it is our moral responsibility to challenge those trafficking Eritreans, and those profiting from an organ trafficking which has been all too common in Sinai.

I'd like to send my message of support to the families whose loved ones have perished in Sinai, and I commit myself to joining the global campaign for an end to crimes against humanity in Sinai, and most importantly, I support that we bring to justice perpetrators of those crimes.
