Fellow Eritreans and Ethiopians:
Ethiopian & Eritrean Friendship Forum (EEFF) is holding its fourth annual conference on March 24th, 2012. Building on last year’s success, this year’s theme is "Healing Past Wounds -- Building Our Future Together", a critical idea to focus on in this increasingly competitive global economy. Click here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NmWZ0ERp2k for a sample of last year’s event.
We are sending this announcement to the wider Ethiopian and Eritrean community for two reasons:
- to invite as many people as possible to attend the conference. Be part of the solution!
- to invite thought leaders to share their views as panelists.
However, EEFF has very limited funds and we ask interested panelists to find other means to cover their expenses. If you have the passion to shape a future where both Ethiopia and Eritrea can co-exist as friendly sovereign nations committed to peace, educational excellence and mutual prosperity of our people, please send a summary of what you would like to present to

Vision: To help create an empowering environment for ordinary Eritrean and Ethiopian citizens where honest people-to-people dialog based on trust and mutual respect can be cultivated with the intention of actively promoting peace, justice, good neighborliness and prosperity for our people and region.
Objective: The Eritrean & Ethiopian Friendship Forum strives to
See to it that the spirit of friendship and relations of mutual support among the people of Ethiopia and Eritrea, be strengthened, that it should not be limited to the contribution of scholars and academicians, but should also be extended to civic organizations in both countries which function outside the purview of both governments.
Promote all kinds of people-to-people associations in both countries -- including educational, religious, cultural and economic.
Be a catalyst that these associations be formed in different cities in the United States and other countries where Eritreans and Ethiopians are to be found.
Why now:The real question is if not now, then when; if not us, then who? While many formerly under developed countries around the world have seen tremendous growth in the last several decades, most African countries including our own, by contrast, have been engaged in destructive wars that have drained their economies while enriching arms dealers and arms manufacturers. The existence of strong, self-empowered and mutually supportive organizations could help reverse this trend for a better future.
What each one of us can do: Join a chapter of Ethiopian & Eritrean Friendship Forum in your area. If one doesn’t exist, help create one.
